This weekend is going to be a little different from most since our primary focus will be on Saturday. We are coming alongside Harbor Community Church in Ventura to serve the homeless through providing a meal and a night of worhsip through praise music. We will be helping in a variety of ways from bringing a dessert or setting-up, serving, and cleaning-up the meal to greeting people and/or listening to their stories.
One way that we'd like to contribute to the evening as a community is to cover the cost of the meal. We figure that by contributing $5 each we can accomplish this. Will you help?!
Here's the plan for the weekend:
Friday night: Dinner
(Saturday is our focus, but we still need to eat on Friday!)
6:30 Dinner at The Promenade (by the fountain @ Barnes & Noble)
Saturday: Harbor of Praise!!
2:00 Meet @ Chipotle in Newbury Park (935 Broadbeck Dr.)
We're going to leave cars in the parking lot and carpool to Ventura
(exit Wendy Dr...parking lot accross from Target & Home Depot...by Islands).
3:00 Arrive and get started at Harbor Community Church (3100 Preble Ave.)
5:00 Meal served followed by praise time
9:00 Help Clean up
