Friday Night - Service Project - Kingdom Center, Part 2

We had a great experience working to clean out and do some demolition at the Kingdom Center* on Saturday. There is lots more to do, so this Friday we're going to get started on a large painting project. We will be applying a 1st coat of paint on as many of the rooms as possible. This will allow a crew who's coming on Saturday to get the rest of the painting done by the end of day.
Here's the plan:
Dinner
6:00 Baja Fresh
@ the food court by Home Depot and Target off of Wendy Dr. (Subway, Presto Pasta, The Habit, Baja Fresh, Daphne's, Pizza, Chipotle, etc.)

Painting
7:00 Carpool to Kingdom Center in Ventura
If you are unable to meet us for carpooling or prefer to have your own car please come directly to the Kingdom Center:

* 101 North exit California turn RIGHT
* Thompson turn RIGHT
* You will see a park on your left and then Ash St....the Kingdom Center is just past that on your left...the sign currently reads "City Center Motel".

Supplies Needed: Paint and rollers are provided. We need to bring roller frames, brushes, paint pans, and lights. Lights can be almost anything, ie. lamps, construction lights, whatever!!! If you have any of these items, let us know! If you don’t, please bring $5.00 to defray the cost of buying these items.

Please call with any questions...Kevin @ 805-796-2497

* What is the Kingdom Center? It is currently an old run down motel that is being leased by the Harbor Church. Soon, it will be ready to serve as transitional housing for homeless people. This will be their first step towards getting off of the streets and creating a new life for themselves. The Harbor is seeking to partner with other churches in the mission and we feel blessed to be one of the partners. We have the opportunity to develop ongoing relationships with these people as we share in their monthly Harbor of Praise night.
