UPCOMING EVENTS!

Friday Night – BBQ/Bonfire/Brainstorm

Though the bulk of our time will be spent hanging out, playing games, etc., the first hour to 2 hours will be spent brainstorming ideas for fun, service, and spiritually enriching events.  We invite everyone to participate and give their input.  We desire to be a ministry where people are accepted for who they are, where there is an opportunity to be used, where we can be stretched, and where our understanding and love for God grows stronger and deeper.  Would love to get your input on what kind of things can we participate in that facilitates these things.

Dinner will be provided.  Please bring $5 to cover the cost.

This past Saturday was Serve Day, where over 30 churches within Ventura County joined to serve the local community.  Because of this, it is great timing to turn our focus to the subject of service.  I encourage you to reflect on the questions below which came to mind after reading this blog post by Donald Miller - http://www.relevantmagazine.com/god/mission/features/25634-are-you-motivated-by-good-or-guilt

Why do you serve?  How do you serve?  When do you serve?  Who do you serve?  With whom do you normally serve with?  What are your reasons for saying “Yes” or “No” to service?
