On Saturday, Feb 23rd the Malibu Creek State Park will be hosting a25th anniversary celebration of the last TV episode of M*A*S*H at thesite it was filmed for so many years. Check out the link below; it'sfrom 10am-2pm and a Nat'l Park Spokesman will speak at 11am. Though you can mountain bike it, they expect about 1,000 visitors so it will be easier to hike the trail. You can park on Mulholland Road but with that many people you may need to park inside. The Entrance fee is $10 per car. 1. A group of us parked just in time for a caravan of about ten 1940 restored military vehicles to pull up with re-enactors in military attire. Channel 9 news was there along with LA Times reporters. Then we were privileged to be in the presence of the producers of MASH and its actors B.J. Hunnicut (Mike Ferrell), Hot Lips (Loretta Swit), Father Mulcahy (William Christopher), Igor (Jeff Maxwell) and Roy Goldman. We did plan on hiking out there but were invited to ride in any military vehicle we wanted. So I jumped in back of a truck with a machine gun. We drove through a muddy road to the sight. The MASH chopper flew overhead. And the producers and actors gave speeches. It was truly a treat to see the actors walk about remembering the 11 years they spent filming on sight.
